Before you play, here are a few of our most frequently asked questions:
I’m brand new to pickleball and just want to try it . How can I do this?
Before you’re a pickler, you’re a cucumber! Sign up for one of our ‘Cucumber Classes’ and learn all the basics of the game from one of our awesome instructors. Paddles are provided, just bring yourself and be ready to laugh. Signups in advance are highly recommended as space is limited. To sign up or find out more – check out our ‘play’ page.
Do I have to be a member to play?
Nope! Everyone is welcome to play at Dropshots, member or not. There are many benefits to becoming a member, but open play drop-ins for visitors are only $15. Court reservations for visitors are $30/hour and that includes 4 player passes.
What is included with a Membership?
Members enjoy free open play, always. They also have the benefit of securing spots in leagues, tournaments and clinics before non-members and 4 free hours per month of court rentals (after that court rentals are just $5/hour). Members may book courts 14 days in advance, while non-members may only book 7 days in advance.
How can I become a member?
Visit our Membership page to find out more. All of our memberships and bookings are completed through CourtReserve, so you will create a profile with them and you can manage all your pickleball related activities in one spot!
What is CourtReserve?
This is the system we use to manage memberships, private court rentals, clinics, tournaments, leagues and lessons. You can access the platform through many of the links on our website.
Can I come by any time to play without making a reservation?
The short answer is – YES. At open play, as a member, you can just walk in and head to the courts. As a non-member, you may pay in advance for open play through CourtReserve, or you may pay upon arrival. Reservations we highly recommend both members and non-members to book in advance, though you are welcome to walk-in and book a court if they are available.
What is Open Play?
Open plays are designated times where you do not need a reservation or other players. Game play rotates through all three courts and you get to play with a variety of people. You’ll see open play times on our schedule and they are broken out into three categories – beginner/intermediate, intermediate/advanced, and social (all levels welcome). Click here for court rules.
I’ve reserved a court, can my guests play for free on my reservation?
If you are a non-member and have booked a court, your reservation allows 4 players total included with your reservation. If you’d like more than 4 players on your reservation it is $15 per player after the 4th (unless they are members, who may play for free). If you are a member who has booked a court, members may join your reservation for free. Non-members may join at $15 per player for the duration of the reservation.
Do you have a ball machine?
Soon! It will be available to rent once we have this option on our courts.
How do I sign up for a league, clinic or tournament?
The best way to keep up-to-date on upcoming leagues, clinics and tournaments is to join our email list. We will include links to sign up directly, along with important information and dates in those emails. Otherwise, visit our ‘Events’ tab to see what’s happening!
What equipment do I need?
Players bring their own paddles and balls, however if you’re new to the sport we have both available to borrow at no charge. We recommend tennis or pickleball shoes and comfortable sportswear.
Can I host a party or event here?
Absolutely! Check out our Parties & Events page for more info.
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your reservation up to 24 hours before your reservation time, otherwise you will be charged. If you’d like to give your court to someone else you can, just let us know.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes! While, our pro-shop offers snacks and drinks, you’re welcome to hang out and enjoy your own food and drink in the café area of our pro-shop. For special events, we will have food trucks. You may BYOB.
